Moby was one of the first major acts to play Lizard Lounge in early 1992.

Lizard Lounge opened on December 19,1991. With existing locations in Houston and Austin, Lizard Lounge quickly become a Dallas nightlife institution. The Lizard Lounge remains one of Dallas' premier venues for live and electronic music. Past performers include Moby, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Fat Boy Slim, Benny Benassi, Skrillex, Afrojack & Deadmau5.

Evolve with Voodoo People

"Voodoo People" is a CLASSIC and MUST KNOW track by electronic legends THE PRODIGY. The song definitely had a HUGE impact on my life, as I used to roll around with this in my first car ever - 1 1989 Ford Mustang GT Hatchback (Two:tone black with grey ground efx)- along with Daft Punk's "Homework".

Here is a bit of education on the song take from www.wikipedia.org ::
"Voodoo People" is a song by The Prodigy, released as their eighth single on 12 September 1994. It was the third single from the album Music For the Jilted Generation and was released as a 12" single and its own EP in the United States through Mute Records.
The British release included a remix by The Chemical Brothers who at that time called themselves "The Dust Brothers" in honour of an American producer duo of the same name. When "Voodoo People" was to be released in the States, and due to the British Dust Brothers' rising popularity, the American Dust Brothers threatened a lawsuit if they didn't change their name. The British duo changed their name to "The Chemical Brothers", and the remix on the American Mute release was renamed in accordance. A small sample in the remix was also reversed on the American release due to copyright issues.
The original video was directed by Walter Stern and Russell Curtis. It was filmed on location in Saint Lucia and it showed Leeroy Thornhill as a voodoo priest. This version included scenes featuring real witch Doctors, but these were cut because of problems with television censorship. A number of other more graphic versions of the video are available, one of them appearing in the Prodigy's Electronic Punks documentary.[citation needed] The spoken parts ("... the voodoo who do what you don't dare do people...") are taken from "The Shalimar," written and performed by Gylan Kain, one of The Last Poets.
The main riff in the song is based on a sample of the Nirvana song "Very Ape" from their third studio album In Utero. The song has been covered by Refused and British funk band 6ix Toys as well remixed by Pendulum (see Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)) and other known and less known artists such as Eskimo and Shayning. The track has also been a part of many soundtracks, such as Hackers, Doberman, etc.

Here is the Chemical Brothers remix, which was featured on the cd single that I used to rock in my aforementioned car from high school. The cd played each remix back to back.

The Pendulum remix comes with great GREAT acclaim from not only myself, but The Prodigy themselves. The remix was featured on their very first "Greatest Hits" cd, before the remix ever came out!! This means, Liam and crew thought so highly of the Pendulum remix, that they put it on their greatest hits to DEBUT it! I remember when I got my white label version of the vinyl. I was in the record shop (RIP CORE RECORDS), with Frodo Joel, and it came as an unlisted white label. I put it on and immediately my jaw hit the ground. SO unexpected!! Even Frodo Joel (whom, like many at the time, was not fond of the cheesy Pendulum sound), dug it! It became an instant classic, and i STILL play it even to this day!

Hailing from Dallas Texas, AFK is a Dubstep and Drumstep producing duo consisting of Droopy (Jimmy Blythe) & Royal Highnuss (Kyle Nuss). AFK is getting thier productions played out by the likes of; Rusko, Datsik, Calvertron, Run DMT, Stinkahbell, and many other large names throughout the EDM genre. If you are not familiar with the AFK sound, you should get familiar.



Always a powerhouse on the decks, AFK always ALWAYS delivers in the studio as well. I personally can't play a set these days without at least 2 of their songs.
